World of warcraft where is malygos

Comment by duranox My tactic for the Mounted phase was the following, start by getting 5 stacks on the HOT on you then use the healing ability, after that start attacking and when you see the HOT is about to run out refresh it, but the most important thing is to keep the debuff up on Malygos all the time.

If it falls then it's a big chance you'll not beat the enrage timer. Comment by Hashupa This was extremely easy as a BM hunter. I fought him in heroic dungeon gear, which probably doesn't even matter.

I even used a spirit beast for the quick self heal, but I did not need it at all. As a hunter, just keep your pet set to tenacity. Once you start riding the drake, cycle over and over while flying in circles around him. Farm this quick for the Blue and Azure drakes before they go the way of the old ZG mounts! Comment by Just solo'd him as Feral Druid on Mode: Maly enraged in P2, i stopped before killing the last add, waited 30 minutes for deenrage, then killed him in P3 with much time.

Don't know, if he will enrage again, but you've plenty of time when doing it like this. Whole fight took like 55 mins. No mount Comment by I have done this with a partner at lvl 90, and we were fine. Simply know what to use in the last phase. I've seen this solo'd as well, by stacking up to 25 long-term DOT's 2 on Malygos. This will be the tough part solo'ing at lvl Also, we tried to two man the man and we're not sure if this is possible.

The 10 man drops both drakes, so I don't know why you would bother other than for the achievement. In that case, you will need several more people, I'm guessing at least 4 who know how to use the drakes. No mount drop though and yes both mounts do drop in 10man mode. A spark helps.

The reason you want 3x charge is that the dot lasts longer that way so you have time for healing as well as next dot. Don't let the dot fall off. The other abilities are not needed. As ranged this should be even easier. Comment by Seahnjin As of MoP, the man version can be soloed by pretty much anyone. Honestly, if I was able to do it on my first try as a badly geared 90 rogue after reading the strat for phase 3, of course Of course, the more DPS you can put out on the first two phases, the more room you have for mistakes in phase 3, in case you're just as uncoordinated as I am.

Killing the sparks in phase 1 and grabbing the buff for yourself definitely helps. Comment by Silvansaria I absolutely cannot solo this encounter - I don't know what I'm doing wrong I can get through Phase 1 and 2 no problem and bring him to about half life or less going into Phase 3.

I've tried the 1,1,1,1,1,2,3,3,3,1,1 and the 1,1,12,3,3,3 and the 1,1,2,3 like some of the video on YouTube suggest - and it doesn't matter. I keep strafing to the left or right avoiding those lightning blasts he throws out Maybe I'm not understanding the combo points you have to stack correctly or I'm not understanding exactly how the rotation works but I have copied exactly what I've seen and read and nothing - fail every damn time.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or maybe NOT doing? Comment by Chaosrock He dropped both the Azure and the Blue drake for me tonight. Comment by Solacia really easy to solo as a ranged class at 90, at least on 10 man Get two sparks stacked and force transition to phase 2, then pop all cooldowns and burst as hard as you can before he flies out of range. I hit phase 3 with 1 HP left, which meant I just had to hit the 1 button only once when he came up in phase 3 for a win.

Comment by superdx I just did this as a Fury Warrior. I assume this would be true for most melee classes. Instead of using those preset sequences, here's what I did. Get 5 stacks on the boss by pressing 1 2. Use 2 3. Slam 3 to heal yourself in between avoid the sparks AOE, you can't do anything about that stare though 4. P3 lasts about mins. Buy yourself some time to get another 5-stack dot up.

But it shouldn't be necessary unless you are about to die. The dot on the boss is what kills it. So you need to keep it up. I killed it with about stacks on the boss. Comment by You can't actually kill him until phase 3 starts.

Comment by dragancla Patch 5. Phase 1 isnt hard at all, just nuke him with. Phase 2 can be tricky for classes with no heal spells, but for blood DK it's not aproblem, just kill the 2 mobs on the platform, hop on a disc and killed the remaining 4 mobs. Phase 3 can be tricky if you don't now what to do. What you have to do is press: 1, 1, 2, 3. If you spam you're not going to make it!

Find a nice pace. I find out that after I press 3, I should watch my healing stack until it has 6 seconds left from 10 seconds and when I did that, my 2 was usable again.

Just keep this pace and you will kill him in a few minutes. Good luck! Comment by Just solo'd the 25m version on my warlock. My gear is ilvl. I'm affliction specced, using a voidwalker with grimoire of supremacy and soul link. There's a bit of a bug with the boss, or it's not mentioned in the fight description. There's an aggro reset after the vortex. And as a warlock, it took a good while before my pet picked up aggro again like 30 sec or so.

So you have a couple of options, either tank him yourself after the vortex, with the voidwalker whacking on him for about 30 sec till he re-establishes aggro, or you can soulshatter. Soulshatter will return the aggro to your voidwalker, but it's on a 2 minute cooldown, so if you hit another vortex, you're going to face the exact same problem.

You will probably only face 2 vortexes, so your best bet is to shatter the first one, then just tank the 2nd one while using the proper defensive cooldowns and a healthstone. In p2, make sure you get your voids on the 4 melee guys, and dot them up. It helps to kill the melee guys as quick as possible, because with all 4 of them whacking on you, it can tax your health more than you would expect.

But if you just focus them down, it will be easy going until p3. I use the glyph of corruption that gives you back some health whenever it ticks On 25 man, it took a while for him to go down.

His health will not change much until you start getting your dps stacks around 20, then you will notice his percentage will start dropping.

If you find you make a mistake with your rotation and have to choose between dropping your hots or dropping your dps stack, keep the dps stack up or you probably won't survive. It's much easier to regain your 5 stack of hots than a 20 stack of dmg. Good luck.

Comment by kingja Solo'ed as SV Hunter, gear is ilvl. When ever I solo old raid content I always think about going BM and using a spirit beast for the heal it has but in this fight I did not need it. Use MD at the beginning and nuke down the boss, when P2 begins MD again so the 2 Nexus Lords aggro your pet, bring them down then hop on to the hover disc and kill the remaining 4 mobs flying around. Doing that will start P3 and easily the most challenging part of the fight IF you dont the rotation for your new moves that you have on your dragon.

I myself died a few times, needlessly spamming all the buttons or not getting the balance right between dps and healing. As soon as you gain control of your dragon use "3" and stack it up 5 times, 3 is your HoT that will keep you alive. By the time it reaches 5 Malygos should become active, all you need to do is follow the set pattern as many users have said in the comments of "".

Your damage may not seem that good and Maly's hp might not look like its going down at first but following this pattern you will hardly lose any health and his health will go down alot quicker as the fight progresses and the DoT from "2" starts stacking up.

Also move out of and avoid the lightning AoE that he casts for needless damage. Bar that just be patient, if you have hit 1 twice but 2 is not useable yet just wait till it is and then 3 and rinse and repeat. At 90 I think any class could do this without any problems its just learning P3 and getting used to it. I also hate to be that guy but my first time doing Malygos, he dropped the Azure Drake. If only all the other mounts and transmorg items I want would be as kind :D.

Comment by heqno For some weird reason i cant get him down in P3 , doing like everyone said here on comments with the 1,1,2,3 , also tried 5 a couple of times, Frost DK ilvl.. Comment by Syloswift Attempted to solo - Patch 5. The real problem is the last phase. It is easy enough to keep your dragon alive and DPS at the same time, but as it is effectively doing a level 80's damage against Malygos, you hit the enrage timer.

I got him down to 1M HP before the enrage so I would imagine that it is very possible to two-man it. Even with awesome DPS, u really need to practice P3 to get the rotation down. Even 1 screw up and you'll hit enrage if your stacks fall off. Ranged don't have as big of a problem as they can take down a big chunk of her HP during the phase transition, eliminating a lot of P3's up time.

No mount, but REALLY glad to know its possible without cheating like they do on all the YouTube videos I've seen let boss enrage before the final P3 push, sit in pink bubble for 30min until enrage wears off, then continue to take minutes, hours, days, however long u want to finish her in P3 without her ever re-enraging. Good luck to everyone on farming her mount! Comment by Nakae Ridiculously easy to solo as an ilvl survival hunter with any pet. Phase 1 - Stand behind Malygos, to avoid his bad breath.

One-shot the sparks when they get on the platform, and stand in their gooey electrified corpses. Keep firing at him during the vortex - the only issue here is that your pet despawns, so all aggro goes to you. Feign death once he lands again to keep him chomping on your pet and not you. Phase 2 - not difficult. Keep moving around - the balls of purple-blue fire are targeted at the ground, not you. Shoot down the floating magic-men that come towards you, and steal their floating discs to get to the smart, higher-up magic-men.

Phase 3 Stack up the HoT, then 1, 1, 2, 3 once he's targetable. You're invincible, he's on fire, and then he falls to oblivion. All is good. Collect loot. I don't even bother with mend pet - I have a tenacity turtle, but he never loses more than 10k healther before Spirit Bond heals him up again, and he's never proc'ed Shell Shield before on this fight.

He dropped Azure Drake my first run, but not a scale nor horn of Blue Drake yet. Comment by Dracoandy Just did this raid on 10 man and can confirm that the Blue Drake does still drop from Malygos,. Comment by Just press 1, 1 , 2, 3 and keep doing circles around him When he has about 20 stacks on him his health just disintegrates and dies. Comment by Sluggzo If you're having trouble getting through phase 3 solo with the rotation, I found it easiest to let your energy fully recharge between 2 and 3.

This build a solid rhythm where my stacks never dropped and my health regenned enough to stay ahead of his damage. Comment by Before phase 3 starts, build up your health buff to 5 stacks by pressing button 3, once the fight starts it will give you a head start, then stick to button rotation 1,1,2,3.

Comment by minkage Its actually much more worthwhile to solo 10 man over 25 man. Comment by Soloed him on my ilvl rogue. Phase three was the hardest, and it took a few tries to kill him. But I did it. No mount, but now I know I can do it. Now for the blue one My ilvl now is Comment by Atrisha Just solo'd him as a Shadow Priest. For those having a hard time in phase 3 I can confirm that 1,1,2,3 does work, you just can't rush it. It took me 8 times to finally kill him because I was frantically button smashing.

Once I slowed down and took my time I downed him easily. Plus the blue drake dropped for me the first time! Will keep doing this until I get the azure drake as well. Comment by Izibb Got both mounts on the same kill today, in 10 man, after farming this guy for like 2 years each week. Just keep trying it will drop! Comment by Bowserkills7 Currently having an issue where I lag spiked in the middle of a Lightning Storm during drake phase and died, while my dot ticked over and killed Malygos.

Whenever I try to spawn into the instance, I just fall down to my death. Anyone else had this issue? Comment by rehlyihmah I don't know if anyone posted this before or if it is alright to do this in the first place, though I don't think this is an exploit , but I soloed him today in 25 man mode without any sort of enrage time pressure. Phase 1: Nuke as much as you can. It doesn't really matter how far down you get his HP, but it makes phase 3 a little less annoying.

Phase 2: Kill all Adds except for one. If you've got some passive effect dealing damage to attackers - i. Lightning Shield - remove it. Stay on your flying disk thingie. Waiting is the most important part of this phase, for you a wait until Malygos enrages he cannot kill you in this phase and b wait until his Berserker is over.

That takes 30 minutes, so do this if you, I don't know, want to cook lunch and meanwhile do something "meaningful" in WoW. Once the 30 minutes are over, kill the last add and have fun in Phase 3: I personally use and so on. Maybe 4 with 5 stacks of 1 if I drop low from, I don't know, chatting in the guild channel and not moving out of something quickly enough. All in all, it was completely pointless with both drakes dropping in 10 man and took 45 minutes.

I didn't have to ask for help, though, so, whatever. Comment by Confirmed that both mounts drop in 5. Soloed and both mounts dropped lolz.

And i know haters gonna hate! Comment by simon I just soloed him on my rogue 25 man. I can confirm he can drop both mounts on 25 man. I got both the blue and azure drake from one run. It's BOP so it's completely useless. I guess I'll put it in the bank to look at later.

Where are you my Azure Drake? Set your raid difficulty. The mounts are just as likely to drop in man as in 25, so I'll assume that's what you're doing.

At lvl 90 you shouldn't have much trouble with man. Enter the instance by taking the top-most portal inside the spire at The Nexus in Coldarra, Borean Tundra. Start the fight by clicking the big orb in the middle of the platform. Beat Malygos down. Sparks will spawn; you can kill or ignore them. When Malygos becomes untargetable, phase 2 has started.

Adds will spawn on hoverboards. Kill one and get on their hoverboard. Fly around killing the other adds. Stay well above the main platform, so you don't get hit by what Malygos is throwing out. When the last hoverboard add is killed, phase 3 starts. You are plopped on the back of a red drake. You have three buttons of interest here: 1 - direct damage 2 - stacking damage over time 3 - self heal over time Start pressing 3 immediately upon landing on your red drake.

You should be able to get a full stack of five going before Malygos engages. Fly up a little so you can see him. Target him when he becomes targetable and start your casting rotation: 1, 1, 2, 3. At times you will have to wait for the next button in your rotation to become available usually 2. Do not skip a button! Just wait patiently until you can continue in order.

Hover in place, working your rotation. When Malygos hits you with the extra bright, electric-sounding cloud, strafe sideways out of it. Do not let this interrupt your rotation, even if it takes you a few extra seconds to get moved. Keep working your rotation and scooting out of the electric clouds as needed. As the stacks of your damage over time accumulate on Malygos, his health will drop more quickly.

Optional: Once you can do so without interrupting your rotation, back away until you're close to max range from Malygos. He has one spell that he'll only use if you're close, so staying back will reduce the damage you take. Just don't get out of range and lose those stacks of debuff! This isn't critical in man but is something to try if you're struggling, or if you want to try man. Once the fight is over, Alexstrasza appears and creates a red diamond chest next to Malygos's blue heart.

Open the chest, sigh in disappointment that it doesn't contain any mounts, and click the nearby portal to exit the instance. Try again next week! Comment by Terrassen Probably one of the most well-made models of the old re-used dragon-skeleton.

Comment by GDerkon Some things I've discovered.. A may prove useful.. No matter what side you are.. Flying from Dalaran may seem a good idea, but.. Any class can kill him.. I recomend full crafted pvp gear.. Its possible to alter the rotation to 1 1 1 2 3. Malygos dies far more faster. Up vote the guys who came with the idea of that rotation.

Dont give up.. BOTH mount do drop from this guy. Have fun above else! Cheers :. Comment by Chawan Just had both mounts drop at the same time in 10 man. Comment by Kaleb i would like to mention that while malygos is talking you can still damage him and get him real low.

Just make sure not to kill him before the dragon phase. I'm not sure if it would bug him, but better to be safe than sorry. Comment by this might not be read. Comment by zeiz Tried this today at 10 man as ilvl frost DK. Will try again when I have atleast ilvl. Comment by Mmaster For ranged characters trying to solo Malygos, here is a great addition to the strategies posted below. When Malygos transitions from Phase One to Phase Two, he does a speech and a very slow flying animation before becoming untargetable until Phase Three.

This was usually when most cooldowns were popped. Wait for Vortex to sweep you in the air. Once this happens, continue DPSing, now as hard as you can without popping the big cooldowns. Once Vortex is over, Malygos still needs to do a slow landing animation before doing a slow lifting animation to start his transition.

Once you're on the floor, pop all cooldowns and go ham. If done correctly, you will have loads of time to put a lot of hurt into him. He felt deep guilt for his role in convincing the other Aspects to infuse their powers into the Demon Soul. He traveled to his lair in Northrend, where he hid for millennia.

Feelings of remorse paralyzed him. During the ten thousand years following the War of the Ancients, he was rarely seen by the other Aspects. His body was a caricature of his former self, almost always being in the form of an insect-like creature; a thin body surrounded by frozen ice, almost skeletal.

Her younger consort Korialstrasz , known as Krasus when disguised as an elf , visited Malygos to seek his aid in an attempt to free Alexstrasza. Although Malygos initially refused, Krasus convinced Malygos to assist him by revealing that Deathwing was still alive and that Deathwing had indirectly led the Dragonmaw orcs to find the Demon Soul. Krasus finally said that Alexstrasza could use her powers over life to grant Malygos a new dragonflight.

Seeing an opportunity to avenge the death of his flight, see their resurrection, and redeem himself, Malygos agreed to rejoin the world and confront Deathwing. After Deathwing was defeated and the Demon Soul destroyed, Malygos seemed to reclaim the vitality of his former self. Rhonin the mage destroyed the artifact using a scale of Deathwing and with a spell, all the magic and power of the Demon Soul was transferred back to the other Great Aspects, returning their full power to them.

Although still a sparsely populated dragonflight, the blue brood grows slowly, giving hope to Malygos. This section concerns content exclusive to Wrath of the Lich King.

It was revealed that Malygos has begun to regain much of his sanity. Tyrygosa - having taken the Nether Dragons under her wing - has brought the ethereal dragons to Northrend. The exposure to their physiology has helped cure Malygos and the Blue Aspect's sanity is returning to him.

Malygos, with clearer eyes, takes note of the large number of mortal spellcasters running around Azeroth , recklessly using arcane magic, and worries they may bring the Burning Legion to Azeroth in force again, as the Highborne once did one of his last few memories before going mad. Thus he deems the lesser races' use of magic as unacceptable, and he proceeds to declare war on all magic users, particularly the Kirin Tor of Dalaran.

Dalaran has therefore moved to Northrend, as a capital for both the war against the Lich King , and the Kirin Tor's fight with Malygos. The red dragonflight - keeping Alexstrasza's promise to Rhonin after the events of Day of the Dragon - has stepped up to defend the mortals from their cousins' crusade against spellcasters.

Malygos is found in the Eye of Eternity , his lair within the Nexus; he is the only boss of this instance, similar to Magtheridon and Onyxia. The Arcanomicon was given to Malygos ages ago by the titan Norgannon , the Arcanomicon has been continuously updated and revised by the blue dragons over the long years of Malygos's seclusion.

Malygos now plans to use the Arcanomicon to locate and tap into the ley lines and divert the magical powers that course beneath the earth to his home base in Northrend , the Nexus.

As Coldarra is inaccessible without flying mounts, players are sent there on the back of a red dragon from NPCs located at Amber Ledge. On Coldarra, players meet Keristrasza , who sends you on a quest to build a trap for Saragosa , Malygos' consort.

Keristrasza burns Saragosa's body at the culmination of the quest line, infuriating Malygos. Malygos descends upon the area and uses his magic to freeze Keristrasza and put her under his control. She is then forced to become his new consort and subsequently becomes a boss within the Nexus. Malygos' final appearance in World of Warcraft begins when players loot the [ Key to the Focusing Iris ] or [ Heroic Key to the Focusing Iris ] off Sapphiron , a lieutenant of Malygos who still possesed the key to his inner lair.

The scene reacted here is the creation of the Demon Soul in the hands of Deathwing during a meeting of the dragon aspects in the Wyrmrest Accord. Comment by Damn, the War of Ancients trilogy and Day of the Dragon describe Malygos's humanoid form as some kind of a combination of an elf and an insect. Though I must admit that he still looks rather great here.

A shame that your excess courage does not compensate for your stupidity! Malygos yells: None but the blue dragonflight are welcome here. Perhaps this is the work of Alexstrasza? Well, then, she has sent you to your deaths! Malygos yells: What could you hope to accomplish? To storm brazenly into my domain Malygos yells: I am without limits here. The rules of your cherished reality do not apply. In this realm, I am in control!
